HOUSTON - Coast Guard personnel from Sector Houston-Galveston post the colors during a luncheon at the Texas Southern University's Maritime Transportation Management and Security program launch Sept. 27, 2010.

The Coast Guard worked with TSU and other partners in an advisory capacity for the last two years to get the program started. The program itself is a 121-hour degree program and is structured to include core, major and elective courses.

More than 30 City of Wylie employees from throughout the organization recently participated in National Incident Management training (NIMS). The training, adoption and implementation of NIMS is required by Homeland Security to receive grants and Federal Preparedness Assistance and Reimbursement.
